A tier list is a starting point for a decision, not a replacement for checking the stage, role, and current version.
Start with the question behind the ranking
A general ranking and a Boss, Horde, or Dojo ranking answer different questions. Before comparing rows, choose the mode that matches the stage you are trying to clear. A Tatari can be useful in one mode because of control or area damage and less useful in another because the encounter asks for a different job.
Check the role and the missing job
Use the tier list together with the Tatari profile. Look at element, role, skills, and evolution stage, then compare them with the reason your current team fails. If the frontline collapses, moving to a higher damage row alone may not solve the problem. If a fight times out, a single-target answer may be more useful than another defensive slot.
Treat the source and date as part of the ranking
TataDex keeps source labels and update dates visible because rankings are time-sensitive. A community list is a player opinion with useful context, not an official game statement. When source details disagree or a client update changes a mechanic, use the current client and the source notes to decide whether the old ranking still applies.
Use the list as a shortlist
A practical workflow is to shortlist two or three candidates, open their profiles, and test the one that fills the missing job with the resources you already have. This keeps the tier list useful without turning a broad ranking into a promise that every account should use the same team.
